“The pound falls sharply and shares rally after the Bank of England warns that markets are wrong in expecting interest rates to rise soon.“ (BBC News 4 July 2013).
Queen’s University Management School is excited to launch a new, three-night taster course, Fundamentals of Trading and Investment. This course is being introduced to cater for the interest expressed in trading and investment by students of Queen’s University.
On completion of this course, which offers access to industry leading, finance professional software, students will have covered the foundations of trading and investment in enough detail to have the confidence to read market news, talk about the markets, and most importantly invest real money.
The classes are a mixture of taught and interactive sections with example activities including calculating the intrinsic value of a share to using technical analysis for market timing. Each session makes use of the trading room and Bloomberg software (used by market professionals).
This course is a great addition to any CV and a certificate of attendance will be given on completion of the three sessions.
This course is primarily aimed at but not exclusive to Queen’s students who are considering pursuing a career in the financial services sector; students with a personal interest in the financial markets; and students wanting to pursue a finance related master’s degree programme within the school.
