School of Biological Sciences

These are intended for A-Level students - we are unable to take younger school students.  Work-shadowing in Biological Sciences will be offered competitively as follows:

Main Sites (MBC, Lisburn Road and David Keir Building, Stranmillis Road)

Work-shadowing of 1 to 3 days will be available between October and December or February to May.

Queen's Marine Laboratory Portaferry

Work-shadowing of 1-3 days will be available between Monday 22nd October - Friday 26th October 2012 or Monday 28th January - Friday 1st February 2013.

Applications for the first session (before Christmas) should be received before Friday 14th September and those wishing to be considered for the second session should apply on or before Friday 7th December, stating whether they are applying for the Main Site or the Portaferry Marine Laboratory.

Applications should be submitted as a short c.v. with covering letter.  You should indicate exam grades obtained to date.  As places are limited and there is a high demand, applicants will be selected on a merit basis based on their achievements attained at GCSE/AS level and those who can show a particular interest in the subject of biological science in general or a specific aspect of it.  We will be unable to take late applications.

The outcome of the application will be made known to the applicants by email or letter within 10 days of the relevant closing date.
