Queen’s Viol Consort was formed about 30 years ago. The current members consist of two staff (Prof. Ian Woodfield and Prof. Yo Tomita), two senior players from Northern Ireland and two from Dublin. Students, lecturers, and the general public are invited to join. In the last few years the Queen’s Viol Consort has had one public engagement per year. Our repertoire focuses around early Baroque, but we tend to rely on the numbers who have a strong desire to play their latest acquisitions.
Here is a 15-second audio clip of our playing (recorded by Saul Rayson to whom we are very grateful).
Please note: Individual coaching will be offered to beginners.
