About Us

The School of Education plays a leading role in influencing the development of educational policy and practice in Northern Ireland and has an established reputation for providing challenging and rewarding courses for professionals on both a full-time and part-time basis.  The School has a vibrant mix of high quality young and established researchers.  Our international student body continues to flourish and we operate courses in conjunction with a number of international Universities.

Under our range of Teacher Training course we offer the Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) and the Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education (PGCHET).

Within our Postgraduate Section we offer an extensive range of courses in a variety of subjects including Education, Work-Based Learning and Counselling.  We also provide taught Doctorates (EdD/EdD TESOL) and MPhil and PhD research-based degrees in our four research centres: Shared Education,  Effective Education, Children’s Rights, and Autism Research. 

The Undergraduate Section offers an online Professional Development Diploma for teachers and related professionals.

The Open Learning Section offers a range of courses which are open to everyone, regardless of education background or qualifications.  Come and learn for career development or personal interest.
