Leadership Role

Pathway Coordinator EdD TESOL

Teaching

Dr Linse is the course tutor for the Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) MSc.  She teaches both TESOL MSc and TESOL EdD courses.  She works with students who are preparing to teach English as an Additional Language in Northern Ireland as well as those who will teach English as a Foreign Language abroad.

Research Interests

Dr Linse’s interests lie in implicational linguistics which is a multidisciplinary approach to language learning and teaching.  This theoretical orientation is the basis for examining the ramifications of language learning in a variety of different contexts.  Much of her research addresses the relationship between children’s English language study and their overall, cognitive, social-emotional and physical, development.  She is also interested in learner and parent empowerment and how this empowerment can be fostered in conjunction with English language instruction.
