We aim to make education effective for all children and young people.

Welcome

Welcome to the Centre for Effective Education based within the School of Education at Queen's.  We are an applied and interdisciplinary research centre committed to improving outcomes for children and young people by ensuring that the design, delivery and evaluation of educational programmes and interventions are informed by the best available evidence.

The Centre is currently running 15 large-scale research projects, including nine randomised controlled trials, to a total value of just under £6 million. All of our research is underpinned by a commitment to social justice and improving outcomes for disadvantaged children and young people. This commitment is evident in our core values which reflect an open, inclusive and partnership approach to working.
