About Us

The Doctoral Research Centre is an exciting new initiative within the School of Education which has been created to provide an identified ‘home’ and intellectual space for all doctoral students within the school on both the taught and research doctoral programmes.  The goals of the centre are:

  • To provide a world-class doctoral student experience for all doctoral students (taught and research programmes)
  • To provide high quality research training across disciplines and methodologies
  • To support the work of doctoral students and supervisors
  • To offer a coherent and stimulating programme of training, research seminars and invited lectures to promote demanding academic engagement.

Professor Jannette Elwood is Director of the Doctoral Research Centre and is working with staff and students to achieve the goals of the centre and to create a key location for doctoral student research within education on the island of Ireland.
