Thesis Title: The Role of Sharing Education in a Comparative Context

Summary of Research: Sharing and collaboration between schools in Northern Ireland is expected to increase with the intentions of delivering a high quality provision of education and improving inter-group relations. In 2007 Queen’s School of Education established the Sharing Education Programme (SEP) to provide support for sharing and collaboration between schools, and to further research the effects of the contact hypothesis.

My research examines the practical and conceptual constraints to sharing, which might prevent and inhibit positive outcomes between schools involved in SEP. This study will involve a comparative dimension with schools in another post-conflict territory.
