MPhil/PhD Application should be made via the Direct Applications Portal using 'Create Research Application' option. MPhil/PhD applications MUST be accompanied by a research proposal and two (preferably academic) references.
Candidates MUST draft a research proposal of not more than 2500 words (excluding bibliography). The research proposal should be drafted according to our guidelines on proposal writing. When the draft is complete applicants MUST contact a potential supervisor who will provide feedback on the draft. Applicants are asked not to submit their application and proposal unless they have received feedback on their draft from a potential supervisor within the School. MPhil/PhD can be studied for on a part-time or full-time basis.
For Part-Time study – the closing date for this option is 31st August 2013.
For Full-Time study (self-funding) – those full time candidates who do not wish to compete for a studentship or who are not eligible to compete for a studentship the closing date for this procedure is 31st August 2013.
For Full-Time study and application for an award - Awards are only available to full time students. Candidates wish to apply for scholarships available within the School must apply for full-time study at the same time as per the guidelines above. Closing date for this option is 1st February 2013.
