Research/Scholarship Interests
My research interests broadly lie in the field of teaching English to EFL (English as a Foreign Language) learners and assess their English proficiency. In recent years my research has focused on the use of syntactic and lexical features in speech and writing. In addition, I have been working on investigating native-like mode selection between speech and writing of the EFL learners and seeking solutions to improve their English abilities. I am also interested in using and developing EFL learners’ corpus data and utilising computerised tools for a linguistic analysis. Currently, I investigate lexical bundles of spoken and written English of the learners and compare them with the English of native English speakers.
