RESPONSIBILITIES

I have been a researcher in the School of Education since February 2003 and currently work as a research fellow for the ARIA project (Analysis and Review of Innovations in Assessment). ARIA is a Nuffield-funded project that seeks to develop our understanding of assessment involving teachers: how it can be made more dependable, how it can be disseminated more widely and how it can be successfully and appropriately developed to improve learning for pupils at classroom, school and system level (www.aria.qub.ac.uk).

In the past I worked for several research projects including the ESRC/TLRP funded project CPAL (Consulting Pupils on the Assessment of their Learning) for which I was also a co-applicant, (June 2005-December 2006). I also worked as a Teaching and Learning Support Officer at the Centre for the Enhancement of Learning and Teaching at Queen’s (2001-2003). Before coming to Queens, I was the Research Officer for a major partnership research project at the University of Ulster (Infusing Teacher Education with New Technologies 1999-2001). I am currently completing my PhD thesis on the evaluation of the impact of ICT policies on teachers in Northern Ireland schools.
