The History and Literature of Australia
This site aims to provide general background information on the colonial project which began in Australia in the late 18th Century, and which in many ways is still ongoing. The site aims to provide summaries of political, social and cultural changes brought about by the colonial process, and the effects which these changes have had on the indigenous people of Australia, and also on the colonisers themselves.

This project was completed under the direction of Dr Leon Litvack as a requirement for the MA degree in Modern Literary Studies in the School of English at the Queen's University of Belfast. The site is evolving and will include contributions from future generations of MA students on other writers and themes.
