The Head of School is supported by a School Management Board comprising the Directors of Research, the Director and Associate Director of Education, Directors of Research Institutes, the Head of Postgraduate Studies, the Chair of Research Committee, an elected academic staff representative and the School Manager. This meets every fortnight.
Directors of Research are responsible for Research Clusters of academic staff, researchers and postgraduate research students. DRs chair Cluster Meetings as appropriate.
The Director of Education chairs the School's Education Committee which deals with all aspects of course development, quality assurance and enhancement. This Committee includes the Pathway Co-ordinators for Undergraduate Programmes.
The Postgraduate Committee deals with all matters concerning postgraduate research students and MA provision and recruitment, and is chaired by the Head of Postgraduate Studies, and comprises the Postgraduate/MA Co-ordinators for each subject area and Institute.
The Research Committee meets monthly to discuss REF preparation, research strategy and research income generation. It comprises the DRs, HoS and REF UoA champions/subpanel members.
The School also has an Ethics Committee which looks at all requests for ethical approval arising from research projects of staff and students.
Student input comes via the Staff Student Consultative Committees.
