Special Needs and Disabilities

The School is committed to equality of opportunity for all students, and to facilitating the needs of Students with Disabilities and Special Needs as an integral part of the School community. There is a University Disability Services Co-Ordinator, Ms Linda Maguire (Telephone: 028 9097 8623; e-mail:, who arranges interviews for all students who have advised of their disability on their UCAS form upon arrival at the University. Ms Maguire can arrange special provision as appropriate for students with disabilities. For more information go to the Disability Services website.

The Disability Officer for the School of History & Anthropology is Dr Brian Campbell (ext. 3153; email . Any student with disabilities with any issues they wish to raise should contact Dr Campbell; all interviews will be treated in the strictest confidence. Students with disabilities are urged to obtain a copy of the University Booklet, 'A Guide for Students with Disabilities' which can be obtained from Ms Maguire. Wheel-chair access to 15 University Square is available, through the front door of No.15.

Pastoral Care

Any student who has a problem with an academic-related matter is encouraged to seek advice from the particular member or members of staff with relevant expertise and responsibilities in that area.  In most cases this will be a current module tutor but in some cases it may be more useful to seek advice elsewhere.
