Peter Jupp Bursary

The Wiles lectures in May 2013 will be given by Prof. Robert Gildea

Robert Gildea, FBA, is a Fellow of Worcester College and Professor of Modern History at the University of Oxford.

His four-lecture series will be  on 'Remembering and Repetition in France: Defeat, Colonialism and Resistance since 1940' and will be held from Wednesday 15 May to Saturday 18 May 2013 at Queen's University Belfast.

The Wiles Trustees are pleased to be able to offer this year (2013) a bursary in honour of the late Professor Peter Jupp to cover the attendance of a final year PhD student, or someone who has recently completed a doctorate. The bursary will cover all travel, dinner and accommodation costs to attend the Wiles lectures. The holder of the bursary will be expected to attend all four lectures and contribute to the discussions. Further information may be obtained from Susan Templeton (s.templeton@qub.ac.uk)
