The Wiles lectures in 2011 will be given by Dr Betty Wood. Dr Wood is Reader in American History at the University of Cambridge. Her research interests include Slavery, race relations and gender in the American South between the seventeenth and the early nineteenth century.
Lecture 1 (17 May): 'Leaving Together'
Lecture 2 (18 May): 'Working Together'
Lecture 3 (19 May): 'Socializing Together'
Lecture 4 (20 May): 'Conspiring Together'
All lectures will take place at 5.00 pm in Room G07, Peter Froggatt Centre

The Wiles Trustees are pleased to be able to offer this year a bursary (in honour of the late Professor Peter Jupp) to cover the attendance of a final year PhD student, or one who has recently completed a doctorate. The bursary will cover all travel and accommodation costs. The holder of the bursary will be expected to attend the lectures and contribute to the discussions.
