The School of History and Anthropology offers funding each year for applicants to our MA and PhD programmes in Ancient, Modern and Irish History; Irish Studies; Social Anthropology and Cognition and Culture. Details of available funding may be found on our School Postgraduate Funding page.
Visit our Prospective Students section for more information on our MA and PhD programmes.
There is no separate application for funding. You may indicate on your application for MA or PhD that you wish to be considered for funding by selecting the option "I hope to or have already obtained funding for my studies" in the Funding section. Applications are made through the University’s Admissions Office using the online application system. You must submit your MA/PhD application by the published deadline (Friday 15 February 2013) if you wish to be considered for funding.
Important Note
YOU MUST ENSURE THAT YOU ENTER ACCURATELY ALL YOUR UNDERGRADUATE AND, IF RELEVANT, POSTGRADUATE DEGREE RESULTS (with percentages) BEFORE THE CLOSING DATE. Other international qualifications will be assessed. If results are not entered, we will not be able to consider your application for funding. You should aim to submit your application several days in advance of the published closing date to enable time for references to be sought and a decision to be made on your application.
All applications for funding will be ranked in February and everyone will notified in March.
In addition to the bursaries listed on our funding page, students should also contact the British Council in their home country for advice. Information on fees and living costs for international students can be found else on the Queen's website at: FeesandLivingCosts
Our School website also contains information on sources of funding specifically for US students as well as obtaining a Stafford Loan. Please note that Queen's is approved by the US Department of Education for participation in the Federal Family Education Loan (FFEL) programme.
Home/EU and International Postgraduate Fee rates for 2013-14 can be found here.
