School Funding

Availability

The School of History and Anthropology offers funding each year for applicants to our MA and PhD programmes in Ancient, Modern and Irish History; Irish Studies; Social Anthropology and Cognition and Culture. Details of available funding are on our School Postgraduate Funding web page. Applicants are also invited to our Postgraduate Open Day, taking place on 25 February 2011.

How to Apply

There is no separate application for funding. You may indicate on your application for MA or PhD that you wish to be considered for funding by responding 'yes' to 'Do you wish to apply for funding' in the Funding section. Applications are made through the University’s Admissions Office using the online application system. You must submit your MA/PhD application by 18 March if you wish to be considered for funding.

Funding Competition

All applications for funding will be ranked at the end of March and everyone will notified in early April.

Additional Sources of Funding for US Students

Our School website also contains information on sources of funding specifically for US students as well as obtaining a Stafford. Loan. Please note that Queen's is approved by the US Department of Education for participation in the Federal Family Education Loan (FFEL) programme.

Fees/Tuition Costs

UK/EU Tuition Fees In 2011-12 the tuition fee is £3,732.
International Tuition Fees In 2011-12 the tuition fee for a taught MA will be £10,730. The fees for a PhD are £10,730 per annum over three years.
