Queen's is launching a new Masters by Research (MRes) programme in Irish Local History in September 2013.
The programme is aimed primarily at individuals interested in undertaking a major research project in a local history topic relating to Ulster or the island of Ireland more generally. People wishing to return to study and/or wishing to undertake the programme part-time (over 31 months) are particularly welcome, although the programme is also available for full-time study over 12 months.
The MRes is designed to offer tailored training, guidance and support to people wishing to turn an existing interest in a local history topic into an academic project, ideally with a view to future publication.

Aspects of these courses are offered in collaboration with the Mellon Centre for Migration Studies, Omagh, the Public Record Office of Northern Ireland, Belfast, and other institutions in the Museums, Archives and Libraries sector in N. Ireland.
