Application Procedure

Candidates should apply through the University’s Admissions Office using the University's online application system. The application form is designed to be completed online and submitted electronically to the university. Information can be saved and edited before submission. Guidance Notes are also available at the above link. The Notes contain useful information which will be of help to you later in the year should you have any queries.

If you are interested in taking a research degree you should, in the first instance, contact the Postgraduate Co-ordinator for your subject area for further information:

Ancient History, Professor Brian Campbell, brian.campbell@qub.ac.uk
Irish Studies, Dr Dominic Bryan, d.bryan@qub.ac.uk
Cognition and Culture, Dr Paulo Sousa, p.sousa@qub.ac.uk

It is also advisable that you discuss your proposed project with a potential supervisor before applying for a place. A list of our staff and their research interests can be found in the academic staff section.

The usual University closing date for MA applications is 1 April, but late applications, especially from overseas candidates, will be considered through to 1 August. Closing dates for those applying for funding competitions are fixed, and available on the Funding pages.
