I studied BA Honours in Ancient History and Politics and graduated in 2008.
I’d always enjoyed in History at school and had found Roman history interesting when I had read about it. I found the idea of the ‘roots’ of civilization fascinating, so I was happy to get the chance to study Ancient HistoryWhat did you particularly enjoy about studying this subject at Queen’s?
I especially enjoyed the tutorials where you got a chance to talk about your own grasp and understanding of the important historical events. I also found many of the essay topics interesting. Most of all I enjoyed the study of the Jewish background to Christianity and the history of the early Church.
I really enjoyed being in Belfast, and meeting new people at Queens. I enjoyed many of the opportunities the clubs give you and the people you meet there, at clubs like tennis and the Christian Union.
I hope to do a Masters of Divinity Post grad.
Yes, the subject is fascinating, if you really let yourself get into it, finding the important factors in History that defined where we ended up as people can be really interesting. It is well worth studying History.
