Admission Requirements


It is not necessary to have done A-level History or Anthropology to study these subjects at Queens.

What grades are required for studying at Undergraduate level?

1. All students must satisfy the University's General Entrance Requirement (sometimes referred to as the Matriculation Requirement).

2. Below are the grades required to study history and anthropology at Queen's: 

History

Anthropology

A-Level

ABB or BBB + B (AS Level)
(Single Honours)   

BBB or BBC + B (AS Level)
(Joint programmes)

ABB (for joint programmes: History & Politics; English & History; History & International Politics and Conflict Studies)

BBB  (Single and Joint Honours)                         

or BBC + B (AS Level)

Irish Leaving Certificate

GNVQ Successful completion of Advanced GNVQ with a Distinction grade overall plus normally B (A-Level History)  
Access Course Successful completion of Access course with an overall average of 65% including relevant modules in History.
