Biographical Details

I came to Belfast from Poland, Warsaw. I did my M.A. degree at the Institute of History, Warsaw University. Currently I am working towards PhD in history at Queen’s University.

Research Topic and Interests

My PhD thesis aims to define the dates of composing a certain collection of medieval Irish saints’ Lives – the so-called ‘O’Donohue group’. There are today about one hundred and fifty Lives of the Irish saints extant. Among those texts, only a dozen have been assigned secure dates. The examination of the political, social and cultural context of the Lives from the O’Donohue group will hopefully provide sufficient information to speculate about their dates, and may almost double the amount of securely dated Irish hagiographical texts.
