French at Queen’s offers a stimulating intellectual environment for both MA and PhD study.  Research in the department is well-established and dynamic, with a focus on modern literary studies, the Eighteenth century and French Linguistics. These areas of research excellence are reflected in the MA programmes which we offer, and in the areas where we are able to offer quality PhD supervision, recognised in our success in gaining competitive Research Council awards for PhD students. In all aspects of our postgraduate programmes, you will work with academic staff at the forefront of their own fields, making postgraduate work in French Studies at Queen’s a challenging and enriching experience.
