It is a University requirement that every School should establish a Staff Student Consultative Committee (SSCC) for the purposes of:
What sorts of issues can be raised at SSCC?
The jurisdiction of the SSCC is very broad and essentially includes all matters concerning the quality of academic provision in the Law School . This includes the nature and design of the curriculum, the quality of teaching and learning processes as well as associated matters and activities within a School such as student guidance, resources, feedback and accommodation.
When does SSCC meet and who sits on SSCC?
The Law School 's SSCC meets twice each semester and is comprised of student representatives from each degree pathway, the Director of Education and the student advisors for each pathway. The committee is chaired by an individual agreed by the group as a whole.
How can I get issues raised for discussion at SSCC?
If there is an issue that you would like the Committee to address, please approach the appropriate student representative for your degree pathway. The identities and email addresses for student reps are provided below .
How can I find out what is discussed at SSCC and the action taken in response to issues raised at SSCC?
The minutes of each meeting are posted on this site together with the report from the School's Director of Education setting out the action taken in relation to the issues raised.
How can I become a student representative on SSCC?
Student reps are elected each year for the duration of the academic year. Elections are co-ordinated at the start of term by the Student Law Society. If you are interested in becoming a rep, please contact the Student Law Society at 28 University Square, room LG.03 .
