Stephen Livingstone Studentship

In honour of our late colleague, Professor Stephen Livingstone (1961-2004), the School of Law at Queen’s University has established a studentship in the areas of human rights law or public law.  This fund is supported also by donations from Stephen’s family and friends.  Stephen was Professor of Human Rights Law, a former Head of the School of Law and Director of the Human Rights Centre, as well as a renowned human rights activist and Commissioner on the Northern Ireland Equality Commission.   

This fees-only studentship is designed for a suitably qualified UK/EU graduate ideally with experience of working in a human rights based NGO or similar organisation either in the EU or beyond, who wishes to undertake a taught LLM in Human Rights in QUB Law School commencing September 2013.  The successful applicant will receive an award which will cover UK/EU fees for the relevant academic year.
