The Research Advocates are small team of Postgraduate Students who spearhead a key strategic research advocacy initiative within the school. The team works with the Core Disciplinary Research Group Coordinator to highlight the impact of research produced by the School and promotes wider public engagement with the rich research culture that exists in the School.
Key tasks include:
Manni is a 2nd year JD student at Queens. Originally from Australia, she received her Bachelor of International and Global Studies with a double major in Gender Studies and Political Economy from the University of Sydney. She is particularly interested in women’s rights and will shortly begin a dissertation on refugee law and feminist legal theory.
Meghan is currently in the final year of a part-time Masters in Law. She is originally from Canada, but has now lived in Belfast for the last 15 years. Meghan received a BA from McGill University in Political Science and her current research interests include, Human Rights, the intersection of gender and law and reproductive rights in Northern Ireland.
Adam is a final year PhD candidate at QUB School of Law. He previously obtained a BA in History and Politics, and a Masters in Legal Science, both of which were awarded by QUB. Adam’s research interests lie in the relationship between law and technology, data protection, algorithmic decision-making, and the effect of innovation on legal procedures, including criminal justice. He is also an executive board member of QUB LawPod.
Breanne is a second-year Juris Doctor candidate. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Alberta with a major in Psychology and a minor in Family and Disability Ecology. Breanne has headed the Events Officer position for the Commercial Awareness Society and undertaken the Co-Presidency of the Juris Doctor Association. She is currently researching her dissertation which focuses on disability rights.
