After completing his first law degree, he taught philosophy at the post-secondary level in Canada.  He was called to the Bar of British Columbia and practiced there for a number of years.  Bruce joined Queen’s Law School in August 2012 from Newcastle University, where he had been a lecturer at Newcastle Law School.
Bruce’s research interest are in competition law (of the EU, UK, and US and attempts at international convergence of competition regimes) and in WTO law.  He also has an interest in criminal law (particularly “white collar crime”), and in corporate, commercial and financial law.  He is currently finishing a monograph entitled Cartels, Markets and Crime:  A Normative Justification for Criminalisation of Economic Collusion which is under contract with Cambridge University Press.
