Biography
Qingxiu Bu joined Queen’s on 1 September 2008, having previously been a lecturer in law at Cardiff Law School, Cardiff University where he taught Corporate Law and Contract Law as well as an LLM module in International Corporate Governance. He has also been a visiting professor at Lund University, Sweden. He will teach Transnational Business Law, as an adjunct professor at the Centre of Transnational Legal Studies (CTLS), Georgetown University from the Fall of 2010. His research explores a diverse range of issues in company law and corporate governance, including topics in the areas of cross-border mergers and acquisitions, insolvencies and comparative corporate governance. He is currently involved in several international business law projects. These include projects on China’s cross-border bankruptcy law, on shareholder litigation via derivative actions and on third party liabilities.
Dr Bu has seven years' first-hand experience in international business and legal practice in the Middle East, USA and China and advises a number of government agencies on a range of cross-border transactions issues.
