Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to enable the School of Law to compile a School of Law Register of University Tutors.
University Tutors are involved in delivering undergraduate tutorials in a range of topics and successful applicants will be fully responsible for the delivery of teaching and conduct of assessment to agreed standards. The greatest need for Tutors is typically, but not exclusively, in the areas of European Law, Constitutional, Criminal, Contract, Tort, Land Law, Equity, the Law of Evidence.
The minimum requirements for someone wishing to act as a University Tutor at the School of Law is a second-class undergraduate law degree (or its equivalent) or a postgraduate law degree. Those who do not meet the essential criteria will be informed that they cannot be considered for any opportunities. Previous experience of undergraduate law teaching and study towards a research degree in law are desirable qualifications.
If you wish to be considered for any opportunities to provide teaching assistance which may arise please complete and submit this Application Form by Friday 2 August. The School of Law normally requires that tutors are available to teach from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Fridays during term. A list of the required duties and responsibilities is provided here.
Those who have previously acted as University Tutors in the School of Law must also complete and return this form if they wish to be considered for future opportunities. Late applications will not be considered.
Successful applicants will be engaged under a contract for services and will not be employees of the University. Successful applicants will also be expected to attend a meeting with the Head of School and/or her nominees during which details of the duties, responsibility, training and payment of School of Law Tutors will be outlined.
