International Students

International students can gain much more than a degree in the UK.  There is the opportunity to learn new skills and to take advantage of the exellent standards of teaching that the UK provides.  At the School of Maths and Physics in Queen's you will meet, work with and be taught by internationally acclaimed physicists and mathematicians.   Studying in the UK also helps you learn the English language through your study, friends and everyday life.

Queen's School of Maths and Physics is a truly international department.  We have staff members from 13 different countries, including UK, Ireland, Italy, Bulgaria, Russia, Argentina, Cuba, Germany, China, Greece, Kenya, Niger, The Netherlands, Romania and Iran.  Students from all over the world come here to study.  Currently most of these are at postgraduate level.

The University offers a special welcoming and orientation programme to all new international students, and English Language courses are available to various levels.  More information on these and other matters, such as how to apply to the different programmes, find accommodation, tuition fees, etc can be found in the website of our International Office.

Tuition fees for EU students are the same as for UK students.  You may find that the cost of living in Northern Ireland is lower than in many other regions of the UK.  Additional information on studying in the UK is available from the British Council, in particular on sources of funding.  Awards for undergraduate study in the UK are available to permanent residents of a Commonwealth country through the Association of Commonwealth Universities.
