The Department of Physics and Astronomy and the Department of Mathematics are pleased to offer a programme of lectures/discussion forums for secondary school pupils at all levels. The aim of these lectures is to increase awareness of the role of physics and mathematics in our world in all science-oriented pupils, and to promote the study of these subjects in both schools and third level institutions. The lectures normally last approximately 40-45 minutes (unless otherwise stated), and use powerpoint slides and/or demonstrations.
This programme of lectures is offered FREE OF CHARGE so contact us soon to arrange a lecture or discussion visit. Whilst we would prefer to give the lectures at Queen’s, if this is not possible we can give them at your school. If a teacher/Head of Department would like to take advantage of this opportunity, please contact mp.outreach@qub.ac.uk. Please follow the link below to see the current list of lectures on offer.
Normally a different member of staff from Queen’s University offers each lecture. Please note that as our staff are heavily involved in front-line research and University teaching, not all lectures will be available on every date.
