I joined the School of Mathematics and Physics in 2013 and I work in the Pure Mathematics Research Centre as a lecturer.
Prior to this I was an EPSRC postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Sheffield. I have also held postdoctoral positions at the University of Western Ontario and the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in Bonn. I obtained my Ph.D. from the University of Sheffield in 2008 and my master's degree in mathematics from the University of Warwick in 2004.
I study algebraic topology, focusing on stable homotopy theory, equivariant stable homotopy theory and homotopical algebra.
I am particularly interested in the monoidal products that arise in stable homotopy theory, such as the smash product of spectra. In that vein, one theme of my work has been studying the smash product of various types of equivariant spectra by finding monoidally Quillen equivalent algebraic models. Thus giving us a good understanding of the multiplicative structure of equivariant cohomology theories.
