Funding Opportunities

The School of Modern Languages offers funding each year for our MA and PhD programmes.  Information on funding for 2014/15 will be available later in the year.  Below is an example of what was on offer last year.  All successful candidates have been notified.

TAUGHT AWARDS FOR ENTRY SEPTEMBER 2013
There are a variety of MA awards available and the School has also set aside some funding for 2013/2014 in order to help its best applicants defray the cost of the MA.  If you would like to be considered for an award, you must apply in the usual way through the application portal (please click) here AND you must also submit at 350 word proposal (click here) and e-mail the completed form to ml@qub.ac.uk

RESEARCH AWARDS FOR ENTRY SEPTEMBER 2013
The School of Modern Languages requires that applications for admission to any of its postgraduate research degree programmes (eg PhD and MPhil) must be accompanied by a 1000 word proposal. The proposal should address the following issues: the specific research questions you will focus on; the research methods or theoretical framework you will employ; the relationship between your topic and existing scholarship in the field; and the contribution you believe your research will make. You should also include a short list of indicative references. All applicants are advised to contact a relevant staff member in their proposed area of study before submitting the proposal. Details for awards for 2013/14 will be added at a later date.
