German at Queen’s offers a stimulating intellectual environment for both MA and PhD study. All staff are literary specialists working on texts from a variety of theoretical perspectives, but with a dominant focus in the nineteenth, twentieth and twenty-first centuries.
Within this broad “literary” strand, our research also draws on theatre, music and cinema (Robb), the visual arts and cultural theory (Creighton), poetry and poetics (Pajevic) and children’s literature (Seifert).
These areas of research excellence are reflected in the MA programmes which we offer, and in the areas where we are able to offer quality PhD supervision. In all aspects of our postgraduate programmes, you will work with academic staff at the forefront of their own fields, making postgraduate work in German Studies at Queen’s a challenging and enriching experience.
The links below will take you to pages presenting our MA and PhD programmes, as well as linking you to information on funding and the application procedures. If, however, you cannot find the information you need, please do not hesitate to contact the Postgraduate Coordinator in German, Dr David Robb (d.robb@qub.ac.uk)
