Welcome to Spanish and Portuguese Studies

Spanish has not only been taught at Queen's for over seventy years, it can also boast one of the earliest Chairs of Spanish in the United Kingdom, established in 1926. Since then many prominent British and Irish Hispanists have been numbered among students and staff.

The present teaching staff aim to offer courses which continue this tradition of excellence, in innovative and challenging ways. The Spanish proramme at Queen's has been developed to provide students with a range of stimulating learning opportunities, involving not just discipline-specific knowledge, but also invaluable transferable skills and training for future employability.
