Welcome to this first session of the module.

In this session you will be asked to work through a number of online activities. It is important that you engage in all the activities to enhance your learning and to aid you in completing the assignment which is to develop a “Project management proposal for a project to enhance health service quality or safety”.  

While you may not have been involved in project management before this session examines the nature of the knowledge we have on the discipline of project management.

Before you proceed you are asked to write your own definition of project.

You might consider some small projects and large projects? Are there any common features in them?

Can you give examples of well known projects?
