What our students have to say

Some of our current and recent international students have given us their opinions why Queen’s would be the right choice for you:

Mphatso Nguluwe
Mphatso Nguluwe (Malawi)

The lecturers and welcoming environment have made my studies the best experience I could ever have.  Education is of high quality and I have come out enriched with knowledge which I am looking forward to put into practice when I go back to Malawi.  Queens is an international environment!

Yen-Ju Lin
Yen-Ju Lin (Taiwan)

My name is Yen-Ju Lin, a PhD student of the School of Nursing and Midwifery in Queen's. I was here for the MSc in Nursing in 1999 and then continued the PhD course.  The reason I chose to study in Queen's was because of its reputation.

The School of Nursing and Midwifery in Queen's provides a positive and supportive environment for international students. I feel that I have received a great welcome and support from the school and staff.

The city centre and supermarkets are located conveniently.  People are friendly here.  I would recommend Queen’s as a great place to study.

Pei-Rou Hsieh
Pei-Rou Hsieh (Taiwan)

My name is Pei-Rou Hsieh from Taiwan.  I completed my BSc in Health Studies at Queen's about 1½ years ago.  Plentiful teaching resources and friendly teaching staff increased my study motivation.  With an especially wonderful climate and convenient living environment, I have told myself so many times that I am so lucky I can study at such a wonderful School.  Now I am studying the MSc in Nursing, of course still at Queen's, because I love Queen's very much.

Sarah Kyamulabi
Sarah Kyamulabi (Uganda)

When l had the opportunity to come to the UK there were fears and anxiety but I can say in the first week when l was introduced to my supervisor it eased all my uncertinities one by one.  Taking each module gave me the oppourunity to meet different lecturers who not only gave guidance but also gave me their time to discuss things I was not sure of.  What more can l say?  I will never forget Belfast.  A nice cold country!

Maria Phillips (St Helena Island)
Maria Phillips (St Helena)

My name is Maria Phillips and I am from the Island of St Helena in the South Atlantic Ocean. I am a School Health Nurse on the Island and in April 2006 I came to Belfast through Queen’s University for professional development within this area. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here and found the experience very beneficial and rewarding.

On my return home to St Helena, I’m taking with me new ideas, new experiences and memorable thoughts of the people who I worked and came into contact with.  I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those people who were involved in planning, implementing and contributing to my training here in Belfast.

Márta Vass (Hungary)
Márta Vass (Hungary)

I was an Erasmus student from Hungary, at Queen's University BelfastI spent a wonderful time there (three months) It was a very-very good experience for me.  I met lots of kind people, and they made me forget, that I was in a foreign country.

I advise everyone, to go and study abroad, especially in Belfast.

Mint Erasmus-os magyar diák tanultam a Qeen's University Belfast-on.
