Research interests:

I have two distinct research interests. The first is in promoting the quality of teaching and learning in higher education. As a teacher and lecturer I believe none of us are that good that we can't still improve and I am interested in pursuing all avenues to make the learning experience an effective and enriching one for students. As such I am interested in research into learning and teaching from a practical and applied angle.

My second interest is in health psychology - principally into stress and coping. My PhD is exploring the affects of stress on well-being and earlier research has assessed occupational stress in lecturers. I am interested in the factors that can buffer against the adverse affects of stress and in effective coping strategies.
