Research interests:   Clinical and health services research involving children and young people with cerebral palsy and other physical disabilities including complex needs


Current research activity:
  • Surveillance of cerebral palsy in Northern Ireland (funded by the Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety) in collaboration with Dr Nan Hill, South & East Belfast Trust and Professor Helen Dolk, University of Ulster at Jordanstown.
  • Quality of life and participation of children with cerebral palsy in Europe (SPARCLE study) (funded by EEC’s Framework V) in collaboration with Dr Allan Colver, Newcastle University and seven other European centres.
  • Locomotor abilities in children with ambulant forms of cerebral palsy (funded by the Northern Ireland Research and Development Office’s Recognised Research Groups initiative) in collaboration with Dr Brona McDowell, Mrs Claire Kerr and Mr Aidan Cosgrove, Greenpark Healthcare Trust.
