The First Step

When you are accepted to Queen’s, we will be in contact with you to let you know what happens next. Get off to the best start with a Queen’s Welcome. For some postgraduates, particularly on taught programmes, university life begins the week prior to the start of lectures with events and activities in your School. It is important that you register and enrol at the time specified by them. There are also a range of events across the University for you to get to know other students, and learn about support and development opportunities available to postgraduates at Queen’s. International students will also be invited to an Orientation that begins in mid-September.

Before coming to university, it is critical that you are clear about your financial arrangements. Income and Student Finance, based in the SGC, can advise you on your course tuition fees, including the assessment and collection of fees, and the administration of Hardship Funds.

Students are welcome to come to the Centre and talk to the Information Assistants, who are able to replace student cards, check student records, issue short statements of attendance and answer general queries.
