Knowledge Transfer Centre

Knowledge Transfer Centre:

Queen’s University has a world-class reputation combining innovation and excellence in research and education with its leadership role in the community. This tradition of excellence provides a firm foundation for Queen’s to ensure that it remains a driving force for wealth and job creation in Northern Ireland.

The University’s world-leading research centres, in areas ranging from cancer studies, physics and digital telecommunications, to sonic arts and sustainability, are attracting international acclaim. It is vital that businesses throughout Northern Ireland have access to the wealth of technology, knowledge and expertise that is available and KTP is a key tool for this.

The knowledge Transfer Centre was established at Queen’s in 1993 to provide a focal point for the promotion and support of knowledge transfer activities, in particular to increase the involvement of small and medium sized enterprises with the University, by developing collaborative projects through KTP. Since then, the knowledge Transfer Centre at Queen’s  has supported over 200 Partnerships and is now the top Centre in the UK, focused on leading our KTP partners, inspiring new businesses and graduates in addition to delivering a top quality service to all our industrial, academic and graduate customers.

Knowledge Transfer Partnerships bring together the key elements necessary for technology transfer, offering unrivalled opportunity for quality, industry based training for graduates and at the same time, encouraging local companies to invest in research and development. KTP enables them to increase their technological capability and create the innovative products and processes necessary to improve their competiveness, create new jobs and enhance the skills of their workforce.
