Study Abroad

Add an International Dimension to your Queen's Experience

The School encourages all of its students to consider spending a period of study abroad.  It's a great way of developing personal and employability skills, experiencing exciting new cultures, gaining a more global outlook and perspective, as well as – and definitely not to be forgotten – an opportunity to meet new friends and have fun.

Erasmus Programmes

Erasmus links in the School of Planning, Architecture and Civil Engineering

The School has exchange agreements with 23 European universities, where Queen's students can study for a semester.

Students should ideally go in the second semester of their second year at Queen's University. Alternatively the first semester of their second year. Third year is not advised, or allowed if the student is doing a dissertation.  Architecture students will go in their first year of MArch.  Students are encouraged to go for one semester only, but will exceptionally be allowed to go for a full year if they are in their second year.

Students who want to go on Erasmus should have an average overall 2:1 mark. Deadline to apply is 31 March of each year. There is some flexibilty, especially if you are going on the second semester. But check the  partner university you want to go to as some of them have early and very strict deadlines (you should apply to the partner university only after you have applied and been accepted by QUB).
