May 2008 

Dr. Neophytos Loizides has been awarded a Hellenic Ministry of Foreign Affairs grant of 6,000 Euros for the Cyprus and Divided Societies Workshop at Queen’s University, Belfast 20-21, May 2008 (in collaboration with the Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy-ELIAMEP and workshop organizing team, http://www.psych.qub.ac.uk/cyprus/)

September 2007 Dr Keith Breen has been awarded a British Academy Conference Grant (£2000) and a Community Relations Council ‘Community Relations & Cultural Diversity’ Grant (£4000) to fund the Beyond the Nation? Critical Reflections on Nations and Nationalism in Uncertain Times conference held in QUB, 12-14 September 2007
July 2007 Professor Shane O'Neill and Dr Cillian McBride have been awarded an ESRC Seminar Series grant of £18,000 to co-ordinate a series of interdisciplinary seminars on the theme of 'The Politics of Recognition and the Dynamics of Social Conflict'
July 2007 Dr. Neophytos Loizides has been awarded a Small Grant of £5905 from the British Academy to undertake a study entitled  Doves against hawks in the framing of peace policies and nationalist mobilization”
May 2007 Dr. Alistair Clark has been awarded a Small Grant of £5167 from the Nuffield Foundation to undertake a study entitled ‘Political Parties and Multi-Level Local Campaigning in the 2007 Scottish Elections’
May 2006 Dr John Barry together with Dr. Robin Curry (Principal Investigator)  and Dr. Cathy Maguire (Envirocentre Belfast), and the Stockholm Environment Institute awarded a DEFRA, Community Waste Innovation Fund, ‘Northern Visions – Identifying priority areas for action and a programme for sustainable resource use in Northern Ireland’. Dr Graham Walker has been awarded a grant of £17466 by the Leverhulme Trust to undertake a study entitled "Scotland, Northern Ireland and Devolution 1945-79"

2006 Professor Rick Wilford , £30,000 continuity funding for the ‘Monitoring Devolution’ programme, under the aegis of the ESRC and several government departments
December 2005 Professor Cynthia Macdonald participates with Graham Macdonald on a project funded by a Royal Society of New Zealand Grant on the Metaphysics of Mental Causation. The value of the award was £150,000
October 2005 Professor Cynthia Macdonald has been awarded a National Endowment for the Humanities Fellowship of $40,000 USD for a project on Authoritative Self-Knowledge
September 2005 Dr Beverley Milton-Edwards has been awarded £50,000 for a project entitled 'Critical pedagogy and conflict resolution' that is sponsored by the Department for Employment and Learning (DEL) NI and the Higher Education Academy (HEA).

May 2005 Professor Rick Wilford , £35,509 awarded by the ESRC for the project 'Devolution and Governance: Monitoring Devolution'.
April 2005 Dr Roberto Belloni is participating in a research project entitled 'Dilemmas of Democratization in Post-War Societies' which is sponsored by the Graduate School of International Studies at the University of Denver and the Department of Peace and Conflict Studies at Uppsala University and funded by the United States Institute of Peace.
March 2005 Dr Robert Harmsen has been awarded a British Academy Small Research Grant SG-40300 (2005-06) of £4,275 for fieldwork in connection with a study of ‘The Politics of European Constitutional Ratification in France and the Netherlands’.
February 2005 Drs Stefan Andreasson, Andrew Baker and John Barry  are co-applicants on an ESRC World Economy and Finance Programme project entitled 'Regulatory Regime Change in World Financial Markets: The Case of Sarbanes Oxley' which has been awarded £190,500.
January 2005 Professor Shane O'Neill  has been awarded a Fulbright Scholar Award of £4,000 and a grant of £5,400 from the British Academy for a project on 'National Diversity and Consensus Democracy' to be conducted at the University of Pennsylvania.
2005 Professor Richard English has been awarded a Research Fellowship from the Leverhulme Trust for a History of Irish Nationalism.
September 2004

Dr. John Barry Irish EPA funded project ‘Action Research on sustainable development indicators: stakeholder participation and indicator development’, with Professor Richard Moles (Principal Investigator) and Dr. Bernadette O’Regan, Centre for Environmental Research, University of Limerick.  Total award value 162,000 euros. http://www.ul.ie/~sustainable/main.htm

April 2004 Dr Cathal McCall is participating in a project entitled 'Mapping Frontiers, Plotting Pathways: Routes to North-South Cooperation in a Divided Island' which is a collaborative endeavour between the Centre for International Borders Research at Queen's University and the Centre for British-Irish Studies at University College, Dublin. The project has been awarded €578,236 by The Higher Education Authority.
May 2004 Dr Yvonne Galligan has been awarded approximately £10,000 for a 'CIVICACTIVE' project sponsored by the EU Commission Sixth Framework Programme.
2004 Dr John Garry has been awarded £29,072 by the ESRC for a project entitled 'The European Election Study (2004) in Northern Ireland'.
December 2003 Professor Adrian Guelke has been awarded £43,638 from the ESRC New Security Challenges Programme for a research project entitled ' Interpreting ongoing crises in the Northern Ireland peace process '.
October 2003 Dr Margaret O'Callaghan is together with Professor Mary Daly at the Humanities Institute of Ireland at University College, Dublin a Lead Investigator on a project entitled 'The Easter Rising - Commemorating 1916 in 1966'. The project has been awarded €298,560 under the Republic of Ireland Development Plan, North-South Research Programme for Collaborative Research, funded by the Higher Education Authority (Republic of Ireland).
December 2002 Dr Yvonne Galligan , award of approximately €1,200,000 by the EU Government Fifth Framework Programme for the project 'Enlargement, gender & governance'.
