Thesis

The WTO effect on Less Developed Countries’ Economies, focusing on the case of the UAE.

Globally, the ability of GCC Governments and business community to benefit from the WTO system depends greatly on their knowledge and understanding of the rules of the system, the advantages they provide and the challenges they pose. It is evident that implementing the GCC Governments commitments in WTO requires adapting the existing laws and regulations and enacting new legislation’s compatible with WTO obligations in the economic and commercial domains. Is this process is going to have a considerable impact on the national structure of legislation’s and systems in connection with WTO rules? At the same time, this effort will lead to modernise the legislation’s, regulations, and technical systems, following the example of the legislation’s applied in the developed countries. So is it possible for the GCC countries to work as an economic bloc or is it more effective and professional to step out from the union to have faster economic development upgrades?
