Projects:

Currently I am working on my doctoral thesis, the preliminary working title of which is 'Freedom, Justice and Recognition: An Interest-Based Theory of Freedom and Global Distributive Justice', an attempt to critically examine the ideal of freedom in times of increased security thinking, environmental degeneration and mass poverty. I aim to present a new and independent approach to freedom, which yields important insights for our understanding of issues, like global distributive justice and sustainable development.

Supervisors:  Professor Shane O’Neill and Dr Cillian McBride

The last conference, where I presented part of my ongoing research was the ALSP (Association for Legal and Social Philosophy) annual conference in Nottingham, in March 2008. The working title of my presentation was 'Equality and Cultural Diversity – An Interest-Based Theory of Global Distributive Justice'.

The next bigger conference at which I will present is the 2nd Global International Studies Conference in Ljubljana, in July 2008.

Currently, I am also involved in organizing a conference on 'Transformation and the Dynamic of (Radical) Change', which is going to be hosted by the School of Politics, International Studies and Philosophy at Queen's on November 28th and 29th 2008.
