Welcome to the School of Sociology, Social Policy and Social Work. We offer a wide range of undergraduate courses in the fields of Social Work, Sociology, Gender Studies, Social Policy and Criminology. About 130 students qualify as professional social workers through our BSW programme each year.
We also offer many opportunities for postgraduate study and research, including the ESRC recognised Masters in Social Research Methods, an MA in Sociology and the Doctorate in Childhood Studies (part taught, part research). Details of any funding opportunities offered by the School are advertised on our website in the spring semester.
Experienced social work practitioners may take a range of post-qualifying courses at diploma and masters levels.
