School Governance


The Head of School is supported by a School Management Board comprising all Directors of Research, two Directors of Education, Postgraduate Tutor, an academic staff representative, School Manager and Education and Finance Administrator. This meets every fortnight.

Directors of Research are responsible for research clusters of academic staff, researchers and postgraduate research students.

The Directors of Education chair the School's Education Committee which deals with all aspects of course development, quality assurance and enhancement. All programme directors are members of the Education Committee.

The Postgraduate Committee deals with all matters concerning postgraduate research students.

The School also has an Ethics Committee which looks at all requests for ethical approval arising from research projects of staff and students.

Student input comes via the Staff Student Consultative Committee.
