This multi-disciplinary pathway is targeted at a range of professionals qualified in caring disciplines (social work, nursing, health visiting, psychology, psychiatry, teaching, criminal justice, and allied disciplines). It meets the core professions’ continuing professional development requirements. For social workers, it meets all nine requirements for the specialist award (with the diploma option) and three leadership and strategy requirements (with the masters option). This pathway is recognized as CBT training course by the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP). Accreditation through BABCP as a Cognitive/ Behavioural Psychotherapist is available to candidates who meet training and practice criteria and is the only means for registration with the Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapy Section of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).
