The MA Equality Studies programme will not be running for the 2008/09 academic year.
The programme is designed for individuals seeking career development and progression in the public and voluntary sectors and for recent graduates of the Humanities, Social Sciences and Law, who wish to develop their skills and knowledge in preparation either for doctoral research on (in)equality or careers in equality practice. The School received ESRC recognition for its research training in April 2006.
The MA/Diploma in Equality Studies covers key issues for equality work in the public, private and voluntary sectors, and provides an introduction to the ways in which greater equality and equity (social justice) in its various forms bring benefits to the common good as well as to those most affected by inequality.
Entry Requirements
Applicants should normally hold a 2:1 honours degree and have good supporting references. Exceptionally, applicants without a primary degree but who have relevant research or professional experience in the equality field may be considered for the Diploma.
