Who do you think you are? This is the key question posed by the research examining Chinese children's cultural identity in the context of Northern Ireland. As the largest ethnic minority group in Northern Ireland, they are approached as driving forces considered to enhance the richness and diversity of this part of the world.
The aim of study is to gain an understanding and insight into the nature of these children's cultural identities. How they make sense of themselves from cultural perspectives and the extent to which the meaning and awareness of their cultural identity affects their self concept will be explored.
For the main underpinning theoretical framework Confucianism which has been the back bone of Chinese culture for more than two millennia has been adopted.
